Color helps set the tone and mood of an event. In this case, we’re talking about the color purple. Did you know that Roman Emperors, magistrates, wore purple and was one of the first colors ever used in prehistoric art? Pretty cool, huh?!
Oftentimes, when lighting a venue or room, purple is used to create a stunning twilight or dusk effect. Keep in mind, when pairing with other colors, white and black is always a safe bet and using it with any of the silver/grey tones creates more of a subtle look. Now, if you want to try something a little different, green and yellow are the most matching colors. Why not give it a try?
Photographers love it generally because it helps make pictures more dimensional and dynamic. In my book, you can never go wrong with selecting this color choice; it’s perfect for any time of year and never goes out of style. After all, this color it was perfect for Roman Emperors, so there has to be something to it.
Here are a few tips to try:
Consider using a purple- wash behind your cake as well as highlighting columns to create the WOW factor and makes the room more inviting, and the same goes for brick work or white linens on cocktail tables, for example.
